Nimonic 90 Wire, 0.787–0.991 mm – 356 kg Delivery

On July 1, NC Alloys completed the delivery of 356 kg of Nimonic 90 wire. The order included three precision wire diameters: 0.787 mm, 0.889 mm and 0.991 mm. All products were supplied in the hydrogen-annealed condition.

This delivery demonstrates our ability to manufacture and supply small-diameter Nimonic 90 wire in customized sizes, controlled quantities and application-specific delivery conditions.

Nimonic 90 Wire Delivery Details

The order consisted of Nimonic 90 wire in diameters of 0.787 mm, 0.889 mm and 0.991 mm, with a combined weight of 356 kg. These closely controlled diameters provide customers with several size options for precision forming, spring production and high-temperature component manufacturing.

The wire was supplied in the hydrogen-annealed condition. Annealing in a controlled hydrogen atmosphere helps minimize surface oxidation while restoring ductility after wire drawing. It also produces a clean surface suitable for subsequent forming, coiling and component manufacturing.

Why Nimonic 90 Is Used for High-Temperature Wire

Nimonic 90 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium-cobalt superalloy strengthened by additions of titanium and aluminum. It combines high-temperature strength with good oxidation resistance and creep resistance under elevated-temperature service conditions.

The nickel-based structure provides thermal stability, while chromium contributes to oxidation resistance. Cobalt supports elevated-temperature strength, and titanium and aluminum are important elements in the precipitation-hardening response of the alloy.

Applications of Nimonic 90 Wire

Nimonic 90 wire is commonly used for components that must maintain strength and stability in elevated-temperature environments. Typical applications can include high-temperature springs, retaining rings, fasteners, turbine-related components, combustion-system hardware and other precision-formed parts.

The hydrogen-annealed condition is particularly suitable when the wire requires additional forming or coiling. The final heat treatment and processing route should be selected according to the component design and applicable technical requirements.
